Twitter changes name to X: The everything app

Twitter has officially changed its name to X.

The change was announced by Twitter owner Elon Musk over the weekend, and the company's official logo has been replaced with an "interim X  logo". Musk has stated that tweets will now be called an "X," and followers will be called "viewers," in an effort to make Twitter more like TikTok or Instagram.

The move is part of Musk's efforts to revamp the social media platform since he bought it in October 2022. The company has already changed its business name to X, reflecting the upcoming rebrand. The new name is part of a major rebranding effort that also includes a new logo, which features a black and white "X" in place of the iconic blue bird. Musk has been teasing the changes for several days, and he confirmed the news in a tweet on July 23.
It remains to be seen how the rebrand will affect Twitter's user base and engagement. The move is the latest in a series of controversial changes made by the billionaire entrepreneur, who has previously been criticized for his management style and public statements. Some users have expressed confusion and disappointment over the change, while others have embraced the new direction. Regardless, the change to X marks a significant shift for the platform and its future.

Future of X/Twitter

Elon Musk has made statements suggesting that Twitter’s rebranding to ‘X’ could potentially become “half of the global financial system” if done correctly

This would be possible with his plans to integrate it with payment systems and enable sending and receiving money.
